How to Take the Teachings of Meditation to the Next Level

Meditation calms your mind, dissolves stress and reconnects you to yourself. It is all about present-moment awareness. We start to show a decrease in beta waves, which indicate that our brains are not processing the information as actively as they normally would.

The most important aspect of meditation is that it allows you to see your thoughts and your mind. We have the same thoughts every day, and we don’t even realise them! So meditation enables you to look at your internal world and rewire your brain, so your perspective on things begin to shift.

Awareness is one of the most important things that any of us can do in our own work.

What happens after you observe your brain?

With consistent meditation, you probably start noticing that each time you sit to meditate, the experience is different. There are different thoughts, concerns or ideas running through your mind at all times.

And meditation allows you to become aware of that. Some thoughts and emotions are more profound than others. Some are stronger than others. Some are experienced every day, and some are just one-off thoughts.

The point is that in our brains, we don’t distinguish between our thoughts and reality. We think what we perceive about reality is reality. But our observations of the world, our life, ourselves and our relationships are completely contaminated by the distortions, generalisations and deletions of our brain.

So many clients have been asking me about what to do next: “What can you do with all these thoughts that I don’t want to have but are still in my mind?”

Well, the first point is to understand how are those thoughts serving you in your life and how important it is for you to change them…

Challenge Your Internal Movie

As Einstein says: “No problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it.”

Whatever situation we are facing, we need to rise up to a new consciousness to overcome it. In other words, you need to let go of what you know to know what you don’t.

Suppose you are meditating and you are still feeling stressed or anxious. In that case, you probably still lack self-confidence and you are not feeling secure about your skills in the future to solve whatever happens. Meditation is great to discover that, but when that happens to me, I always wondered how to work with them.

If you have thoughts that are not empowering you in your life, it is important to note that you are the one creating them. So you are the only one that can change them. After you understand this responsibility (and power) we all have, coaching becomes the difference that makes the difference in your life.

Coaching is the tool that has all the tools. With this self-awareness consciousness, you can become accountable for your emotional balance by using all the information you have about your brain, to grow, evolve and create the life you deserve. What I like most about the coaching I do is that I will empower you to create the changes you want. That is how my coaches taught me to do it and that is how I have the life of my dreams.

I am an example of what is possible and it is my goal that after a coaching session you have witnessed your brain in a way that you hadn’t before, improving your mental and emotional health and having new tools for you to apply daily.

The purpose of a 1:1 ANJA Session is to expose you to the process of what it is like to practice improving your brain, which begins with the self-awareness that meditation can offer you.

At the other side of your limiting thoughts is where freedom lies. The freedom to change your thinking, feelings, actions and results. Because that is the only way in which you are limited: in your mind, in your thoughts.

As Einstein says, I can give you a perspective on your brain that you may not be able to get in your own brain for you to increase your level of consciousness and watch your brain in a completely different way. Until you expose your own self to yourself, you won’t be able to see the difference between the movie of reality you have in your mind and the objective reality outside yourself.

This isn’t just learning, is an evolutionary process in which you will be generating new and different behaviours, taking more responsibility on your self, your own thinking, feelings and behaviour.

You have no power out here in reality, only how you choose to respond to it. And that process begins with understanding and challenging your own brain. Are you ready for the journey?
